Timais the Ash-Weaver

Twin to Hedlef in lineage but bound to volatile ether, Timais channels raw, untamed arcana that leaves a trail of scorching ash and static in his wake.
The Inspiration
Timais is the more genial, younger twin of Hedlef, another wandering wizard.
The fact that Timais conforms to expectations means that he’s popular at fairs – he’s familiar without being devoid of personality. He’s fun to burn as his lived-in face and wispy beard provide enough scope for interpretation so as not to become boring. My aim was to make a piece that becomes a non-judgemental companion on your wall, accessible to a wider audience than some of my more extreme pieces.
The Craft
Timais combines solid black sharp lines with various gradient shades.
The gradient shading on the hat and robe give shape and form whilst the shading on the face and hair hint at road grime from lengthy travels. Extensive use of shadow shading adds yet further depth to the hair and face whilst the beard uses light shading to suggest the wispiness of hair whitened with age.
