Calmwood

Busy convention halls, crowded markets and loud spaces can easily overstimulate the senses.

Our Calmwood series was created as a quiet, physical anchor: hand-sculpted wooden pieces designed to sit comfortably in the palm or between the fingers, bringing sensory focus and grounding back into your hands.

Every Calmwood piece begins with timber selected for its grain character, natural weight and warmth. Sculpted with organic contours and soft edges, each piece is repeatedly sanded through ultra-fine grits to achieve a smooth, silk-like finish that invites touch.

Finished with a food-safe, hardwax oil finish, Calmwood keeps the organic grain alive without toxic chemicals.

Materials & Craft Breakdown

• Ergonomic Contours:
Hand-sculpted palm forms, worry stones and smooth thumb pieces shaped to fit naturally in any grip.
• Selected Timbers:
Crafted from reclaimed and sustainably sourced woods chosen specifically for natural grain figuring, comforting warmth and physical presence.
• Ultra-Fine Sanding:
Worked through progressive fine grits to create a friction-free, velvety surface that feels soothing against the skin.
• Safe, organic Finishes:
All wooden areas are hand-finished sealed with a natural, food-safe hard oil finish to protect the wood while keeping its tactile feel alive.
• Quiet Sensory Design:
Purely tactile and non-mechanical, offering a subtle, discreet tool for focus, anxiety relief and mindfulness.

Care & Specifications

• Timber & Resin Care:
Avoid immersing in liquids. Polishing, with a soft cloth and, if necessary, an occasional (very) light rub with natural beeswax will keep the wood nourished, protected and smooth to the touch.
• Discreet & Portable:
Sized to slip easily into a pocket, pouch or desk drawer, ready whenever you need a moment of focus during a long event or hectic day.

Experience Calmwood in Person

Finding the exact weight, shape and grain feel that fits your palm is an entirely personal experience and so our Calmwood items are sold exclusively at our live market stalls and convention tables. Testing how a piece sits in your hand is the most important part of choosing one.

To keep every event table unique, we don’t offer web orders or online stock for Vault items. Explore our upcoming event schedule to see where you can find our display next across Scotland and beyond.
