Snizzle, Keeper of the Natural 20
May his claws turn your next roll into a triumph
A mischievous denizen of the tabletop dungeons, Snizzle hoards lucky polyhedrals in his lair, feeding on the despair of critical misses and rewarding favored adventurers with legendary rolls.
The Inspiration
I was reading a post on a D&D forum where a player was complaining that ‘one guy’ at their sessions was always fudging his rolls. Clearly something needed to be done! I came up with the idea of dice monsters and Snizzle was born.
My aim was to create spiteful little creatures who would nip at the fingers of those who tried to cheat their the roll. A GM’s ally if you will. That’s how I see this little guy and his family – Lawful Evil.
The Craft
Snizzle uses no subtlety of shading, no implied forms, he’s captured in a solid-line comic-book style … there’s nothing subtle about Snizzle!
The scale of the piece means that some of the lines are very thin, which is as tricky as deft shading, even using the narrowest of wire loops to burn the dark lines.
